Las Vegas Bike Week will filled with fun events and even more fun to be found on your own but the highlight for any custom bike enthusiast would have to be the Artistry in Iron Show. Organizers invited a select number of custom builders to compete of which the following participated: David Anthony of David Anthony Customs, Jerry Burrow of Road Hawgs LLC, Dave Cook of Cook Customs, Mike Dusold of Dusold Designs, Jaxon Fyffe of Wild Card Customs, Roger Goldammer of Goldammer Cycle Works, Ruben Guerra of Dino’s Custom Cycles, Jeff Kessel of Independent Cycle East, Satya Kraus of Kraus Motor Co., Kris Krome of Kris Krome Cycles, Scott Long of Central Coast Cycles, Jim Nasi of Jim Nasi Customs, Cory Ness of Arlen Ness Motorcycles, El Pitts, and Dave Sekman / Erick Ackley of Tempest Cycles.
After Roger Goldammer’s big win at the AMD World Championship in Sturgis, it was no surprise that once again Roger took much deserved top honors and the $20,000 purse in the Artistry in Iron Show with his liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected blown sport bike, with nitrous that achieved a top speed of just over 164 mph at the Bonneville salt flats.
The show was extremely popular to the public as it was set up with a small table next to each and every bike so that the builder had a place to sit and talk with their fans and admirers as well as giving them the opportunity to hand out shop stickers and sign autographs. The judging was performed by the group of peers competing in the show and the show was organized by Harry Schwartz, Pam Schwartz and Mindy Cherry and was sponsored by American Cycle Magazine.
