• What is Los Angeles Ride for Autism? We are 100% volunteer group dedicated to raising funds benefiting non?profit entities that are directly involved with the AutismSpectrum Disorder, by organizing motorcycle fun rides in Southern California
• Our first Los Angeles Autism Ride was in 2005
• Incorporated and became a 501(c) (3) organization in the city of Pico Rivera in December 2008
• Started with three board members: Anthony de la Rosa, Pat de la Rosa and Doug Marrone. Pat and Anthony are parents of Brissa, a 12 year old girl with Autism.Doug is an avid motorcyclist and passionate about this cause.
• Ride For Autism has grown from 80 riders starting in 2005 to over 500 riders and 750 attendees in total by 2009
• Our fundraising efforts have generated over $200,000 on behalf of Autism in the Los Angeles area.
• Our Grand Marshall will be Dean McDermott once again.
• For the this year, the ride will have two start points. In addition to Laidlaw’s Harley Davidson in Baldwin Park Bigg’s Harley?Davidson / Buell in San Marcos will also host
a start point. All riders will end at Original Mike’s in Santa Ana. Breakfast, buffet lunch and a raffle will be held for all attendees.
• The 2010 Beneficiaries are: Autism Speaks, Autism Society of America (San Gabriel /Long Beach Chapter), Talk About Curing Autism (TACA), and Autism Tree Project Foundation.
