Harley-Davidson is recalling all model-year 2012 and certain model-year 2013 VRSCDX (V-Rod Night Rod Specials) manufactured from June 14, 2011, through Aug. 1, 2012, for a license plate bracket that could come loose and damage the rear brake line.
Harley says the bracket assembly’s mounting screws may loosen, causing the assembly to separate from the rear fender. Then it could come into contact with the rear tire, which could cause the bracket to rotate and damage the rear brake line.
The safety recall is expected to begin in early November. Harley will notify owners of the affected bikes, and dealers will make the repair for free.
The recall affects 2,798 bikes.
