We spend plenty of time talking about making horsepower. Giving that horsepower less weight to move deserves a place in the conversation, too. In our latest Cycle Source TV Product Spotlight, Chris takes a closer look at the BST Forged Fusion fuel tank from Brock’s Performance—and asks whether its weight savings and distinctive finish make sense for your bagger build.

BST Forged Fusion fuel tank: less weight, touring capacity
Brock’s lists the tank at 8.8 pounds, a 54% reduction versus the OEM tank, with 6.34 gallons of fuel capacity. For riders putting miles on a performance bagger, that combination is the interesting part. The Forged Fusion finish also brings a mottled carbon appearance that differs from the familiar woven pattern. It is a visible part of the build, as well as a weight-saving component.

Fitment and installation details
The tank is listed for applicable 2008–2023 Harley-Davidson Street Glide and Road Glide models with a center-fill fuel cap; it does not fit Road King models. It uses the factory fuel pump and float assemblies and includes a billet aluminum BST gas cap and rubber mounting spacers. Brock’s recommends qualified installation because some fitting may be needed, and excludes oxygenated race fuels such as VP MR12. Check the current fitment details for your specific motorcycle before ordering.
The listed retail price is $3,390. Would you put that money toward reducing weight, adding power or improving another part of your bike?
