When the miles start to add up, the Harley-Davidson Remanufacturing Program can put the rumble back into your powerplant simply, quickly and affordably. So Harley is offering these new services have been added to the Engine Re-manufacturing Program offered by Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Accessories.
The Twin Cam 96, Twin Cam 103 and 2003-06 CVO Twin Cam 103 have recently been added to the "Reman" program that restores Harley-Davidson engines to factory specifications.
All 1999-06 Twin Cam Engines will be upgraded with Screamin’ Eagle Hydraulic Cam Chain Tensioner and Oil Pump Kit (except ‘06 Dyna models). Remanufacturing also is now available for all 1999-later engines with a Screamin’ Eagle Street Legal Big Bore Stage I EFI Kit. The program will continue to accept 1984-later Evolution 1340 engines, Twin Cam 88, Twin Cam 88B and Twin Cam 95 engines.
Here are the steps of the process,
The Journey Begins
Your H-D® dealer removes your engine, packs it in a specially-designed container and ships it to the authorized Remanufacturing Facility.
1. Disassembly
Engine components that can be cleaned and remanufactured to original specifications are saved, while others are discarded.
2. Cleaning & Powder Coating
Reusable parts are cleaned and paint is removed. After inspection, parts are powder-coated to original factory standards.
3. Machining
Parts are machined, bored and honed to exact tolerances. Only components that meet our strict standards make it this far.
4. Reassembly
All components are meticulously reassembled and upgraded to meet the latest specifications while retaining its stock configuration.
5. Testing & Finishing
After passing a battery of tests, your engine is awarded a one-year, Unlimited Mileage Factory Warranty.
Back in the Saddle
Approximately two weeks after its journey began, your V-twin is returned to your dealer for reinstallation with a new lease on life and its original VIN.
