Better known for stretch choppers than chopped-down throttle-stretchers, Long Beach Cali is nevertheless going to rock and roll on Sunday, April 26 when the ton-up hordes roll in to Alex’s Bar for a day of bike, beer and BBQ. Expect lots of nifty motorcycles, loud, live music, and a bike show partly sponsored by Cafe Racer magazine, naturally.
Winners in four individual classes will receive the adoration of their peers, comely glances from the opposite sex and certificates redeemable for free T-shirts and mags which we fully intend as both gestures of our generosity and a much-needed IRS tax write-off. Stop by and be sure to catch an appearance by our pal and naked bike fan Brian Catterson, editor of esteemed enthusiast journal Motorcyclist, and check out a reading by Mark Gardnier, a Canadian speed freak who has written books and made films about his adventures racing on the Isle of Man. Being as Mark is Canadian, have a laugh as he struggles to pronounce words like “Out” and “About” without saying “ooot” and “a-boot.” In all seriousness, this is one shin-dig you won’t want to miss.
