So I was out and about doing some shopping and there is a huge display in our local Meijer’s of USA shirts and swimsuits, flip flops etc.
So I thought hey cool I might get a few and I picked them up and looked at where the shirts were made.
Well guess what it says USA all over it but it sure as hell wasn’t made in the USA unless Bangladesh somehow became part of the USA. So then I picked up the flip flops and they have USA Stamped on them real big red white and blue, and a nice sticker on them that says MADE IN CHINA. COME ON!!!! REALLY…..
So every person out there that you see wearing a shirt or flip flops that have USA on them in red, white and blue. I just about bet it isn’t made in the USA. That is absolutely pathetic. That stuff that we try to show that we are so proud to live in the USA and so glad that we are the Land of the Free, and the Home of the Brave, but not a damn thing is made here to help keep the people in our own country employed.
It just really struck me wrong after the post about the companies that are in the USA. We have to support our own. Yes things may be a little bit more expensive, but if you really want to get down to the nitty gritty, so you are willing to pay less for something from over seas and keep someone from working in our own country. This is one of those subjects that is touchy. I will be honest, I try my damndest to buy from USA companies. I understand that something’s you just can’t. But what we have to do is try to change that. I grew up in a family that was very strict about only buying USA made products. I didn’t get to have the new Nike’s that all the kids had or whatever other new things. But you know what it didn’t kill me, I look back on that now and I understand why my dad wanted us to understand that. So I will leave it at this. The only way it is going to change is if we make it change. So lets make it change!
Make sure to go check out the post that Chris put up on Made in America Companies!
