HISTORIC “MOTORCYCLE CANNONBALL” RACE TO VISIT WHEELS THROUGH TIME

Dale’s Wheels Through Time, the all-American motorcycle museum located in the heart of Maggie Valley, NC, is set to host a month of racing excitement in September.

This year, the Museum will again play host to the Motorcycle Cannonball. The bi-annual event features an exclusive group of seasoned motorcycle riders on motorcycles no newer than 1928 in a coast-to-coast race across the United States. This year the Cannonball will start in Virginia Beach, VA, and finish 17 days later in Huntington Beach, CA.

Dale’s Wheels Through Time is no stranger to the Motorcycle Cannonball, having acted as a host to the riders many times since the first race in 2010. During the 2021 Cannonball, the museum’s parking lot was filled with spectators eagerly waiting for the arrival of many antique, road-worn motorcycles. The Cannonball brings excitement all day long as racers make their way to the museum on their old iron.

The Museum is set to host the riders for a lunch stop on Sunday, September 10th. Throughout that afternoon, dozens of antique motorcycles will stream into the museum parking lot as the Cannonball riders race from their overnight halt in Charlotte, NC, on their way to Maryville, TN. It’s sure to be a day when history roars to life, full of thrills, road stories, and classic motorcycles.
