So I just finished watching the first episode of the Detroit Bros. new series “Motor City Motors” and I have to tell you that in spite of the usual trash that we’ve come to expect from motorcycle television, these cats are doing some good stuff.
Instead of being a self serving testament to how great they are, this program is an outreach for their whole city. It’s no secret that Detroit is one of the regions that has been hit hardest by the economy and rather than ignore that the Kaye family have incorporated their pride for this once great industrial Mecca, into social activism. Through this first offering they invited five local gear heads and motor nuts to build a project with them. In the end, if they won the task, they were awarded five thousand dollars worth of tools. Now that’s bad ass, since a true blue collar Joe needs little more than the tools to work his way out of hard times.
I’m not sure where the show goes from here, but from this first episode I can say that I am proud to know these cats. Their tribute to their town, their old man and their passion for what they do came through in this work and they deserve congratulations for it. See more at www.detroitbros.com
