Well, it would appear that the old adage of "When in Rome do as the Romans" doesn’t translate into Texan.
I’m here in Austin doing a test ride on a Flyrite Chopper "Reach For The Sky" and my guide for the weekend is Nate, their lead builder. On our second day of riding we leave the FRC H-Q to head for the Lonestar Round Up just as some of Austin’s finest decided to welcome Cycle Source to their fair state and their local law enforcement practices.
It was not as bad as it might seem and within ten or fifteen minutes we were back on our way. Nate got a good laugh, the cops got another check mark in the big book of what I did to prove my job’s important this month, but I got a great ride, who’s laughing now? As for me, I think I might just keep a low profile for the rest of this trip. The Round Up has been a blast so far and I have some killer images and stories for the mag and this blog. Until the next time here’s a few quickies.
