According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website there are a few new recalls about to be released.
Harley-Davidson is recalling accessory brake line kits sold for installation on certain 1996 to 2012 model year Dyna and 1999 to 2012 model year Softail motorcycles. The company said the brake lines may leak because of manufacturing and installation problems.
The problem could reduce braking ability, thus increasing the risk of a crash. Harley-Davidson said dealers will inspect the motorcycles and replace the accessory brake lines as necessary. The recall is expected to begin about March 5, 2012. Owners can contact Harley-Davidson at 800-258-2464.

The Motorcycle Manufacturer Ducati Motor Holding SpA is recalling certain Monster 1100 Evo models from the 2011 and 2012 model years to replace wheel rims that may have developed cracks that could lead to wheel failures.
The company said the recall includes 892 bikes built from Jan. 17, 2011, through Jan. 24, 2012 and equipped with rear rims marked with the code du6-rr. In a document filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Ducati said that over time, the spokes on the rear wheel rim may develop cracks. The cracks can lead to wheel failure, which can result in a crash.
Ducati will notify owners, and dealers will replace the rear wheel rim, free of charge. Ducati has not yet provided the agency with an owner notification schedule for this campaign. Owners may contact Ducati at 1-800-231-6696 or go to their website at www.ducati.com.
