The Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight
![]()
Harley-Davidson has been doing some pretty wicked little bikes out of the Sportster line but maybe none will destroy the girl’s bike myth better than the Forty-Eight. By taking a page from
the aftermarket, Harley has added in features like a PA deer killer front wheel, a slammed suspension and the namesake, a classic 2.1-gallon “peanut” fuel tank reflective of sheet metal of their heritage. It also has some very uncharacteristic tricks as far as a Harley goes, such as under-mounted mirrors and a side mount license plate. For all this, we are happy to name the Forty-Eight as 2010 Cycle Source Reader’s Production Model of the Year!
