The "Warrior Chopper" is a vocational therapy opportunity for wounded warriors who are looking to take on a challenge they never thought possible even before they were wounded in combat. This chopper build has given these warriors an option to break away from their daily routine at the hospital or at home. They come together a few times a week and work as a team once again to accomplish a mission. The camaraderie and motivation that sparks from these chopper build meetings has changed the lives of these warriors who have given so much for their country. The support of so many great Americans and the overwhelming support of people in the bike community is helping their dreams become a reality…
The Warrior Foundation is the non-profit organization based in Southern California that aids in the rehabilitation of seriously injured or wounded military personnel.
The build is happening as they get together twice a week at the hobby shop to work on the bike. At times they have brought in professional motorcycle mechanics and custom bike builders to help with some guidance.
The five wounded warriors that are working on the build are injured from combat, and the injuries range from PTSD, TBI, single amputee’s , double amputee’s , broken bones, burns etc….
"Building this chopper has given us the opportunity to do something we never thought possible even before we got wounded in combat… it’s been truly a blessing to be given this chance to build a chopper and work with so many great people in the bike community" 1stSgt Nick Hamm
