Wednesday Night’s New Series, The Cannonball Chronicles Was Off The Hook

A Quick Recap Of The Pilot Episode – “The Cannonball Chronicles”

The first episode of the Cannonball Chronicles aired Wednesday, May 27, via the Source Media Network. Jason Sims, promotor of the Motorcycle Cannonball Race, is the host with Rob Nussbaum owner of Retrocycle acting as co-host. If you missed it, don’t worry, you can still see it on YouTube!

To kick of the series, Jason introduced us to the Motorcycle Cannonball, a bi-annual cross-country race, in which the participants race antique motorcycles during a 17-day journey from coast to coast. We learn about the history of the Cannonball and its founder, the late Lonnie Isom, Jr.

In a segment titled “A Thousand Words”, world renowned motorcycle photographer Michael Lichter joined us with a featured imaged titled “Indian Morning,”a beautiful photograph taken during the 2012 race, featuring Shinya Kimura. Each episode will feature one image per show that Lichter captured during previous historic races and provide an in-depth description of who, what, when, where, and why before opening it to group discussion.

Former Cannonball Racer, Bill Rodencal, joined Jason and Rob as the first official guest. Bill lets us in on his personal experience as a participant in the Motorcycle Cannonball as well as a look into his background as an Archivist at the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee.

This new weekly program will primarily feature the trials, tribulations, and stories of the race teams as they prepare for the upcoming Motorcycle Cannonball Race. Join host, Jason Sims, promoter of MCR, along with his co-host Rob Nussbaum, of Retrocycle as they deliver Cannonball news, talk about its history, and introduce us to the competitors.
