Three New Hillbilly Invitational Builders!!!

roadside-marty

So the Gypsy Tour starts today and on our way out we are happy to announce three new builders for the Hillbilly Invitational.  For 2015 The Big Mountain Run will feature builders from all over the Eastern and Central parts of the United States in the Second Annual Hillbilly Invitational. Each of these builders is hand crafting an amazing build for the event and will all be pictured here and in Cycle Source Magazine. The winner also gets automatic entry into the prestigious “Artistry in Iron” invitational at Las Vegas BikeFest this year so the stakes are high. Leading up to the event we want to give you a little background on each builder and today we are proud to introduce a returning builder from the 2014 Hillbilly Invitational, Roadside Marty of Flat Broke Customs

Roadside is best known for his work at Willie’s Tropical Tattoo as the Emcee that has a foul mouth but a big heart. Off stage he has been one of the most influential bike builders of our time. Completely off the radar Roadside goes about his day to day while crafting amazing bikes in his old man’s spot, “Shelton’s Motorcycles” in Pensacola Florida. With bikes like “Chick Magnet” and Purple Haze” to his credit already, Roadside’s Flat Broke flare and dedication to the old school style and traditional ways of swap meeting a bike from rags to riches makes him the perfect addition to this year’s invitational.

Steve

Second on our additions list is Steve Peffer of Steel City Choppers. Steve is from Butler PA and has many illustrious builds to his credit that include several covers of Cycle Source, Street Chopper and Easyrider magazines. He has also been known to build an incredible hot rod or ten too. His bikes are constantly pushing the envelope in style with features like a stainless steel barbed wire frame, cast skull heads for a knuckle and a copper chopper. On top of all this he is one of the most talented artists with a can of one shot that we know today. It is our pleasure to have him join the invitational this year.

Last but certainly not least is Pat Patterson of Led Sled Customs. Pat is from Daytona OH and is known around the globe for the work he has done to further the image of the Sportster as a platform for custom building. He is our sponsor for the Sportster Challenge this year too but for the purpose of the Invitational he is a world class builder that we are happy to have in the lineup. Pat’s bikes have been on the cover of every national magazine, on the Discovery Channel’s “Bikerlive” TV show and he is regularly invited as a builder of the Horse Smokeout Pro Builder Show. He is also one of the 35 builders invited to Mike Lichter’s “Naked Truth” show in Sturgis this year, and we can’t wait to see what he brings to BMR.

Your participation will be required whether you are attending Big Mountain Run or not. The way the winner of the Hillbilly Invitational is decided is based on a three-way vote. First is a panel of judges at the event site, the second is decided by the builders themselves and the third is where you come in. When we get to the Big Mountain Run Event Site we will be posting their builds on Facebook and Instagram. 33% of the overall vote will be based on the number of likes each builder gets from social media so stay tuned. Keep watching for more info on Big Mountain Run as the event day gets closer. FYI, the link to our pre-registration is still open, so go sign up to save some money!
