Hoka Hey Coming Events
A number of things are in the works at Hoka Hey. Of course we have the 2014 Hoka Hey Challenge that will depart Key West Florida for an epic journey to Homer Alaska; roughly 7500 miles. But that is just the tip of the spear. We are planning no less than two smaller scale Hoka Hey Challenges and perhaps more. Keep an eye on FaceBook and subsequent Newsletters for more information on when, where and the details of registration. We are also teaming up with Pine Ridge Area Chamber of Commerce on projects that include scholarships as well as a potential for small business loans and/or grants.
We are in the process of collecting stories and pictures from our Hoka Hey riders that will be published on the Hoka Hey Blog, website and/or subsequent Hoka Hey newsletters. The publication of a small "table top" book has been discussed, but truthfully that project depends on available funding.
The new Board of Directors for Hoka Hey is dedicated to making the Hoka Hey Challenge a household name. Our desire is to add to the many riders who are already part of the Hoka Hey Family. For obvious reasons we would love for every rider to enter the Hoka Hey Challenge. Many want to take the Challenge, but we know circumstances dictate otherwise. However, entering the Hoka Hey Challenge is not a prerequisite for joining our family. If you are interested in helping others, if you are willing to give a little (time, not money… well, we wouldn’t turn money down) and if you hold yourself to a higher standard, then you are already part of our family; you just don’t know it yet. If you are getting this newsletter then again, you are part of our family. Here is where that little bit of time comes in… talk with your friends and fellow riders about signing up for our newsletter, following our Blog and "Liking" us on FaceBook. Once they do, they will be part of our family too!!
