Shifting Gears with Jeff Cochran

One of the world’s elite motorcycle builders recognized for his new direction at Sturgis County Line.

As a 3rd generation bike builder, Jeff Cochran has become known for the style and design of the many custom builds he has had featured over the years, but few people know about his talent with photography. This year he has been asked to exhibit his fine art in photography as part of the “Legends Gallery” during the Sturgis Rally at the Broken Spoke County Line on Rt. 79.

As the original founder of Sucker Punch Sallys and alternative wearing apparel, Sinwear, Jeff has many achievements under his belt. As he made his way into this industry he has always been fascinated with photography and even used it as a tool early on to make those businesses successful. But Cochran is about perfection and he found himself constantly studying alternative lighting techniques, a craft that has  given his images a look and feel all their own. “I am too busy to wait like some photographers for the perfect time of day to shoot in the right sun; I will make my own sun with enough power.”

This exhibit, that includes the works of David Uhl, John Guillemette and Colleen Swartz, will be on display along with bikes from Billy Lane, Ron Finch, Samantha Morgan and the BSS World’s Fastest Indian. Jeff Cochran’s work will feature some of the most significant images of his career, many of which have been featured in national publications and some that have never been seen before.
