ROSSMEYER’S Harley Davidson Daytona announces a Museum Store Project

museumsignShelly Rossmeyer Pepe, General Manager of Bruce Rossmeyer’s Daytona Harley-Davidson announces that the company has enlisted the professional skills of Janet Kersey, CFEE, CDME to head up its new Museum Store initiative as the Managing Director of the motorcycling giants original Beach Street location. Kersey, a Daytona Beach native, is known for her work in the creation and formation of Biketoberfest® the annual fall motorcycle rally held each October in the Daytona Beach area.

“We’ve worked with Janet over the years in relation to the major bike events as well as developing the Official Visitor Information Center inside our Daytona Harley-Davidson dealership at Destination Daytona. We are very familiar with her success in both events and tourism and feel that Janet is the perfect fit for our family’s new Museum Store project.” said Rossmeyer Pepe.

The former Daytona Harley-Davidson retail store on Beach Street is undergoing significant renovations to accommodate the new Museum plan. Workers are busy preparing the 5000 square foot retail portion of the facility which Rossmeyer Pepe plans to have operational by Biketoberfest®. “Once the first phase of the retail store is open, we will start the Museum portion which is scheduled to open just prior to Bike Week in 2012” she said. The new Museum will house an impressive collection of Rossmeyer family memorabilia, collector items, art work, racing memorabilia and an array of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Plans also include the addition of traveling exhibits which may include items from the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, WI. “Our goal is really to make this one of the next big tourist attractions in the Daytona Beach area and draw people here from all over the world to visit it along with all our other great things to see and do in the area. The Museum will complement the Daytona Beach destination heritage and America’s love of motorcycling which is part of the fabric of our community” Rossmeyer Pepe stated. Kersey will be in charge of the overall retail and Museum operations and developing the tourism potential for the revamped Beach Street location.
