Racing in The Middle of Las Vegas…………

logo_sincity11Well now you can!  Speedway racing is in the heart of Vegas. Brought to life by Gene Woods a former speedway racer himself. Speedway racing is very popular in Europe and is slowly catching on here. So Gene Woods felt that there needed to be a venue to cater to the growing need. People would always say that Las Vegas Speedway was too far out of town. So his thought was to just put the speedway right in the middle of town and that is just what he did. Sin City Speedway held it’s first event Oct 22 as part of a six week racing series.

The new Las Vegas speedway, a half-acre dirt track made just for motorcycle speed racing, sits just minutes from the Strip on 121 E. Sunset Road south of McCarran International Airport. Speedway races consist of up to six riders on a track racing at speeds of up to 70 mph, on bikes with no brakes and only one gear. To stop or slow down, riders either close the throttle or slide the bike sideways. This makes this sport a heart stopping, nail biting ride the whole time you are watching it.

So if you are in Vegas stop by and check it out!
