Cycle Source Magazine – Custom Motorcycle Culture, News & Builds

My life @ Cycle Source Magazine

I would like to tell you about a dude that I met a few years back named Chris Callen.  I bugged this man to death to do a interview with Duane for his magazine. I was relentless and probably a pain in the ass, but by the end of the V-Twin Expo he interviewed Duane and the rest is history. I always enjoyed reading Cycle Source and when we decided to move to California I asked Chris if I could help him with anything. First he stated “I have this blog and it could use some help.” I thought to myself what is a blog? I thought I was going to puke for the first few weeks because I didn’t know that if I hit a wrong key, I would shut down his whole operation. It scared the crap out of me as I have no computer training. You see, I come from the culinary world with over 20 years rocking a grill or running the whole show.

I couldn’t find a job, a few months passed so I asked Chris how I could help him out even more. “Hook me up with a feature. Go meet this guy, shoot the bike and write about it.” WTH, I am not a writer, never considered myself a photographer but this long haired friend of mine just said ”Really Dude, it‘s  not that hard.” You know he was right. I can’t say that it was my best work but I can say that it gave me faith to do it again. I still consider myself a rookie in training. IMG_0685

Well now this rookie has the tools needed to perform the tasks at hand. This afternoon, Bob, our UPS man, showed up with a sweet care package for me. I received a  brand new camera and laptop.  I would like to thank Chris and Jean from the bottom of my heart for having faith in me, giving me a new home and a brand new career!

I also want to tell my Mom she was right…..She told me if I worked hard every day it would eventually pay off!
