The Legends Ride has set a new standard for giving back during the Sturgis Rally and has risen over $150,000 for local charities in just three, short years. All Riders’ tickets will again benefit local Black Hills Charities, including the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame.
"We are thrilled to continue the tradition of the Legends Ride," explains Rod Woodruff owner of the Legendary Buffalo Chip. "Last year’s ride was featured on the Tonight Show as well as Sturgis the Wild Ride on the Travel Channel. This level of favorable publicity will no doubt help us continue to raise money for charities and the fourth consecutive sellout of the event."
The 2011 ride will begin in Deadwood as the Deadwood Tobacco Company and the Silverado-Franklin Gaming Complex roll out the red carpet for Legends Riders. From Deadwood, riders will enjoy a beautiful 55-mile ride to the Sturgis Buffalo Chip for a special Riders reception, live auction and double-headliner concert.
"The City of Deadwood and the Deadwood Chamber couldn’t be more excited for the 2011 Legends Ride. We have an opportunity to help raise a lot of money for charity while having the opportunity to ride with some motorcycle industry legends," said George Milos, Director of the Deadwood Chamber of Commerce. "We are honored to be a part of this worthwhile event and want to thank Rod Woodruff and the crew at the Buffalo Chip for their hospitality. We are confident that the 2011 Legends Ride will be bigger and better than ever."
Tickets for the 2011 Legends Ride will be available for purchase on February 1st and can be secured on www.legendsride.com or by calling the Sturgis Buffalo Chip at (605) 347-9000. The Legends Ride requires a contribution of $150, 100% of which goes directly to its chosen charities.
The Legends Ride would not be possible without the generous sponsorship of Anheuser-Busch, Inc., Black Hills Harley-Davidson, Custom Chrome Inc., First Interstate Bank, Hot Leathers, Interstate Batteries, Knology, K & G Cycles, Pepsi Cola Bottling Company, Progressive Insurance, the Renewable Fuels Association and Victory Motorcycles.
