Is this going to far?

Well we all know that our world is full of cameras to watch just about everything for law enforcement.

Dash cameras in cop cars to monitor the events, then speed cameras that are just about around every corner anymore. To cameras all around a city to watch and monitor traffic.

So with that said there is now a new camera that is being put into place for law enforcement. The are attaching cameras to the cruisers to scan license-plates, this is so they can get instantaneous feedback as to if someone has a warrant, unpaid tickets, stolen vehicle etc. etc..

In Little Rock, Arkansas is the newest city to install these units and put them into service.

Now, the normal police car has a device that will drive around and scan and photograph license-plates, then it will sort through data to find the issues. Law enforcement states that this is going to help identify stolen cars and drivers with outstanding warrants or unpaid tickets and so on.

This also will monitor just where any Joe Schmo may be at any given time. It has been brought up that this might bother some people (REALLY) because it is being taken as a public intrusion into each persons privacy.

There is a lot of debate on whether it is good or bad, some say that it is good to be on the lookout for stolen vehicles, but the average person monitoring that is not doing any wrong is too much.

So be on the lookout and make sure those tickets are paid!

What are your thoughts on this?
