Hard Rock and Hard Riding Highlight Gettysburg Bike Week 2018

Jam-packed Entertainment Slate Wows at GBW 17th Anniversary

Gettysburg, PA (July 20, 2018) – Gettysburg Bike Week kicked off Thursday, July 12, 2018, for its 17th anniversary rally at the Allstar Events Complex in Gettysburg, PA. Over the course of four days, rally goers enjoyed live music; burlesque; bike demos, shows, and competitions; great rec riding; a cornhole tournament; and much much more.

“It’s a cliché,” said event coordinator Kelly Shue. “But that doesn’t make it any less true: This was the best one yet.”

There was no shortage of music at this year’s rally, starting on Thursday night with country music sensation Parmalee. Hard rocker Lita Ford took over headlining duties on Friday, and Jackyl took it home Saturday night. All three of these top-flight musical acts came through in spades, providing high-energy melodic entertainment for maximum-capacity crowds.

Other great music acts playing throughout the weekend included the Metallica tribute band Fade to Black; acoustic wizards Redemption Road, Tom Senseney, and Acoustic Juice; Marshall’s Highway; Sound of Silence; and child percussion prodigy Avery the Drummer.

And music was just the beginning when it came to this year’s entertainment.

Legendary emcee Jack Schit presided over it all, performing master of ceremonies duties from the Budweiser Stage. Plying his trademark blend of profane yet good-natured repartee, Mr. Schit livened up already live events like the world-famous Tattoo Competition, Bike Games and mini-bike racing. The Parade of Chrome, Wall of Death, and the Cycle Source Ride-in Bike Show, were all greatly enjoyed by the record breaking crowd.

Just as thrilling (but not quite as dangerous), GBW also provided some adult entertainment for patrons this year.

For the fellas, the titillating spectacle of the high-end burlesque act The Cherry Bombs returned for another sexy sojourn, performing three times over three days and dropping jaws every time.

And for the ladies, GBW welcomed back the best male burlesque show in the country, 50 Shades of Men. Composed of national and international touring Chippendales past members, 50 Shades is the premier male revue performing today, delighting women everywhere with “disarmingly sexy, yet very tasteful routines.” They went over even bigger this year.

Of course, no rally would be complete without great riding, and Gettysburg features some of the best. Riders enjoyed tours of historic battlegrounds and hundreds of miles of the best riding in the East. And in addition to the fantastic solo riding, GBW patrons had a great time with several charity Poker runs.
