New Contract Drawn for Nordbye: Buffalo Chip Sponsorship Director Offered Five More Years

Lon Nordbye 10-10

The folks at the Legendary Buffalo Chip, Sturgis’ premier entertainment venue and travel destination, know a good thing when they see it.  A new five year contract has recently been drawn and approved for sponsorship director, Lon Nordbye. The contract will begin as Nordbye prepares for the Buffalo Chip’s 30th anniversary in 2011 and will end in time for the Sturgis Rally’s 75th anniversary in 2015.
"Lon has a wealth of expertise and a track record of driving results for some of the top corporations in the United States," said Rod Woodruff, president of the Buffalo Chip.  "There are few professionals who have the skill set and hands-on experience in the Sturgis Rally market that Lon brings to our venue and events."

An impressive track record thus far, under Nordbye’s guidance the Buffalo Chip has increased corporate sponsorship sales two-fold, providing the Chip with an impressive roster of collaborators including Anheuser Busch, Interstate Batteries, Progressive Insurance, Lionsgate Entertainment, Victory Motorcycles and many more.
In addition to corporate sponsorship, Nordbye has also been credited for having a hand in creating and developing the highly successful Legends Ride charity event and most recently the "2K10 Challenge" which paired leading industry businesses and education in a ground-breaking custom bike build project.
Outlined in the new contract, Nordbye’s responsibilities will include overseeing the development and management of the Buffalo Chip’s growing portfolio of national and international marketing partnerships in addition to event marketing and the publishing of the Chip’s consumer program, the Buffalo Chip Gazette-Sturgis Rider News.  A native of Rapid City, South Dakota, Nordbye has recently set up a satellite office in Sioux Falls in order to take advantage of the regional accessibility to his clients.
"It is a privilege to continue my work at such an iconic venue as the Legendary Buffalo Chip," explains Nordbye. "The goal for The Chip and our partners simply stated is to enhance the experience of our mutual customers with the partnerships we have and those that are developing. It’s going to be an exciting run to the 75th."
