I had the chance to meet up with Bob And Lynn McCoy at the Good Guys Show last weekend. What a sweet couple! Bob McCoy is well known in the racing arena, starting with a career in San Diego, California driving jalopies in his teen years. He later went on to drive Midgets and then sprint cars before signing a contract to drive in the Indianapolis 500 in the late ’60s.
He was critically injured and was unable to drive the Joe Hunt Magneto car at the Indy 500 as planned. McCoy’s art creations consist of original oil paintings of famous hot rods as well as personalized portraits of cars with or without their owners. Perhaps McCoy is most famous for his cartoon art and quarter scale replicas of some of the most famous race cars ever driven.
Today, Bob is still painting and Lynn has written a book “Circle of Impact” which talks about the wild life and fast times of Hot Rod Hero, Bob McCoy, which is available online.
Check out the site and purchase a one of a kind painting done by he real McCoy.
