Donation boxes are going up in stores all over Michigan and Wisconsin – and EVERYONE is encouraged to bring a gift to a veteran. The list of what is most needed and wanted can be found at www.upmag.net – BASH2010 event page. Porcupine Press is Celebrating UP Magazine’s 21st Birthday – by giving to veterans. UP Magazine – humor from the Upper Peninsula, Michigan is distributed locally, as well as to subscribers nationwide. And unsold copies are sent every month to service men and women in war zones overseas. Dan Lawson Band – a rally favorite from Daytona Bike Week to Sturgis Motorcycle Rally – will be headlining this biker-military-community event and they "play well with other!" Look for some BIG surprise guest musicians to set in with them for a set through the weekend. The "Red, White & Blues Band" and "North Country Band" from Michigan are booked. $40 Advance/ $50 at the gate includes a full weekend of camping and concerts. There will be vendors from Upper Michigan you will not see at other rally events, and every kind of BBQ prepared by the Michigan State BBQ champ! Veterans from Michigan VA Homes who can make the trip will be attending, and a special concert and activities will happen for those who can’t attend at the Marquette VA home.
This event is supported by all of Chatham, Michigan! The Lion’s Club is serving beer. The Shriners will bring their clowns and raffle a 4-wheeler. Five Michigan radio stations are helping to spread the word… Donations are being made for a silent auction to benefit the VA Foundation that pays for recreational activities. What better way to celebrate 21 years as a humor magazine than to give gifts to veterans who make our freedom possible! Right?
The Chamber of Commerce has put together a package of what’s available in the area – as far as motels, camp grounds, charter boat fishing in the great lakes, the glass bottom boat rides to see ship wrecks, etc. You can grab some more details and pictures from this album:
