Here we have a 21" spool Invader mag that was under water during Hurricane Katrina..
I didn’t hesitate to pick this ultra rare piece up even if it did look like it came from the bottom of Lake Pontchartrain… even though it was rough I needed it for my 47 Knuckle chopper that you will be seeing more of on here as well as the mag.So keep your eyes peeled for the latest on that!
So here is the process that I used to get this rare piece looking good as new or new to me I should say!
I sprayed Windex on it to get a lot of the crud off …
Then I used a wire brush to knock off the stubborn rust clusters so I could use the water and kitchen soap pad.
Once you wet the soap pad and start scrubbing you will get a thick foam forming on the rusted area which is a little messy but it really gets the job done..
After wiping it down and then using Windex again you will have an idea of whether you need to do more or leave it somewhat crusty like we are for this build..
Thanks to everyone who responds or enjoys these tips and if you have anything to share please let us know..If you have any tips or tricks feel free to post them on here or send them to kerri@pandemoniumc2.com and she will forward them on to me or she might even pick the best one to put on the blog!
