So this offering comes a day late and the topic is dollar short. It comes from a place where in looking around I wonder how many of us would really put our proverbial money where our mouths are…. Recently a friend of mine was offered an opportunity in business and this person had reached a place where this kind of situation was no longer within the realm of being acceptable, even though the money would be very good. Now that the decision has been made it’s been a real eye opener to hear the people that have called in shock that the offer was passed on. Of course the first thing they say is “But the money will be so good” or ” I know you could really use the money.”

Another story from the week comes from a colleague in the industry whom I very much admire. His “American Made values inspire me to try and do more to support others who struggle to keep American manufacturing going. Behind the scenes though I know of a few items that may bring his values into question, however trivial they might seem I wonder if the line in the sand has to be made more firm before we can really enact change in that regard.

I guess the whole point of this little rant is just to question, what do our values really mean anymore? I mean, when people will make it ok for someone to go against what they know is right, just because the money is good, or when they stand up for something on one hand but fail to be as supportive of that in other ways. Are our values so subject to opportunity or convenience? Is it a time where it has truly become easier to say what you believe than to be what you believe. God, I pray for the next generation that this is not the case my brothers and sisters or we as a nation are headed for dark days.
