Salutations my friends… Well, here we are another year coming to a close. I don’t know about ya’ll but man has 2016 been a crazy and wild ride. So much has happened from the coolest of things to the downright shittiest of them. The fact that I’m here to write yet another article is a blessing and an honor. I couldn’t be more grateful for that fact alone. It’s funny, somehow like many people I do a lot of reflecting on the past year and the things that I wish I could have done or been present for. Mostly it’s a question I ask myself… was I the best I could possibly be and not just in my field of work, but more so to the people around me. Was I kind enough, compassionate enough, did I help when I could of, and did I listen to someone who needed it.

I’ve never been one to make New Year’s Resolutions, I figure those things that I think I should do or S change in the coming year should have already been set in motion. I always look to the new year with great anticipation. After all, I have no idea what the hell might happen, my crystal ball broke a long time ago. There’s a sense of fear coupled with excitement at all the possibilities that will present themselves, as well as who I might meet that could very well change the course of my life as I know it at this very moment. I guess for me, the greatest things about another ending is looking back at all the people I’ve met that I am so grateful to have had be a part of my life that I will never forget. So many great moments and after all isn’t that what life is? Just a series of moments?

The band will start to work on a new record in early 2017 and again who knows what we’ll come up with! I’m sure that will be followed by many dates across the country and abroad, giving me one more chance to see and catch up with old friends. Another chance to gripe about aching bones and kids who are growing up and think you’re the most uncool thing ever! But that’s usually followed by many laughs and expressing how we wouldn’t have it any other way. If you’ve ever wondered what the touring life is like just think of it this way.

If you’re lucky enough to make some events across the country during the course of a year and you run into old buddies from one coast or another and you spend hours talking shop and life, well it’s kinda like that, except it’s like that every day for me for over 280 shows throughout the year. So, there’s a lot of talking and picture taking. Again, back to the opening of this column, it’s what makes life worth living and not giving up when things get heavy and feel almost insurmountable. Life will continue to do what life does, we just have to make sure we still come out swinging. As the great Churchill said NEVER EVER EVER GIVE UP!! Until next time my Brothers and Sisters. Be kind to one another. Ride safe and God Bless… X.
