Cory was found dead Thursday morning November 3rd 2011 as the band was traveling to Canada for an upcoming show. According to AP Smoots age and cause of death are unclear. Michigan Helmet law could be lifted……

Soon bikers in the state of Michigan may get the choice whether or not they choose to wear a helmet. Legislation passed the Michigan House 69-39 Wednesday afternoon. The bill will now go to the Michigan Senate. If it passes the Senate, it is unclear if Governor Rick Snyder would pass it. Similar attempts were vetoed by former governor Jennifer Granholm. If the legislation passes, it would allow riders 21 and older to go helmet-free if they meet required insurance and experience thresholds. Many bikers think it should be up to the biker whether to wear a helmet

Motorcycle safety education providers would no longer receive state reimbursement under a bill debated on general file Jan. 24. The Motorcycle Safety Education Fund currently receives $3 from the Highway Trust Fund for every motorcycle registered in the state and $3.50 from the Department of Motor Vehicles Cash Fund for each motorcycle operator’s license issued during the previous year. The fund is used to reimburse motorcycle safety course providers up to $75 for each student who successfully completes a course.

HARLEY-DAVIDSON TO REMAIN IN YORK

Major Restructuring, Including New Labor Agreement, Provides Path to Significant Gains in Cost-Competitiveness, Flexibility, Efficiency MILWAUKEE, December 3, 2009 – Harley-Davidson, Inc. (NYSE:HOG) today announced it will keep its motorcycle operations in York, Pa., and move forward with plans to restructure those operations. The announcement follows yesterday’s ratification of a new seven-year labor agreement by company employees at York, represented by International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Local Lodge 175, and today’s decision by the Harley-Davidson Board of Directors to approve the restructuring plan and related funding.

Remember The Date – October 30th, 2009!

Last Buell Motorcycle Built: On October 30, a Buell Lightning XB12Scg rolled off the company’s East Troy, Wis. assembly line, the last of the 136,923 motorcycles built in the company’s 26 years of operation. Parent Harley-Davidson announced on October 15 that the Buell lineup of motorcycles would be discontinued effective December 18, 2009. Buell motorcycles will continue to be sold through existing dealers until inventory is depleted. We are very sorry to see them go and wish Eric luck in whatever comes next for him.
