The Lone Star Rally: Galveston Baby!!!

Alright, we know what you’re thinking.  Halloween’s over, and you’ve already polished off most of the kiddo’s candy stash in the name of, ah…err…safety.  “Son, all of this candy looks a bit suspicious to me.  Best let me eat it, just in case.”  As if it makes any more sense for you to eat the “suspicious” candy.  Hey, but the kids buy it, right?  I did.  When I was a kid, for some reason, as far as my dad was concerned, all Clark Bars looked suspicious.  Yet somehow he managed to eat about thirty of them per year and still survive.  I digress…  So, as the cold winds begin to blow in from the North, you meticulously polish your motorcycle, add some fuel stabilizer to the tank, hookup the battery maintainer, and cover your precious steed with a bike cover until the warmth and the clean roads of the spring thaw beckon it out once again.

There’s nothing wrong with carrying out this time-honored ritual.  It’s likely as old as motorcycling, itself.  This is the way I used to handle the winter months, the dreaded off-season.  Until now, that is.  Nowadays, thanks to my friends here at Cycle Source, I’ve come to understand that, regardless of what ole mother nature brings to bare, there really is no motorcycling off-season.

That’s right friends.  Thanks to the great folks from Easyriders Events, each winter season brings a series of top-notch custom motorcycle shows that tour venues throughout the US, making their way to a town near you.

The Easyriders Bike Show Tour 2010/2011 kicked-off this year on October 23rd, at the Carolina First Center, in Greenville, SC.  The next stop on the tour, taking place this weekend, from Thursday, November 4th, through Sunday, November 7th will be held in Galveston, TX during the Lone Star Rally.

Among countless other forms of motorcycling-related entertainment, including planned rides, motorcycle giveaways, tons of live music, a huge tribute to our US troops, etcetera, the Lone Star Rally will feature a great show from the Easyriders Bike Show Tour, as well.

And, as if all this weren’t enough to inspire you to make the trip to Galveston, headlining the 2010/2011 Easyriders Bike Show Tour are all of your favorite custom bike builders from the Limpnickie Lot.  That’s right folks, the guys and gals from Limpnickie are the main attraction during the Easyriders Bike Show Tour this year!

To make their presence known Chris Callen, editor-in-chief of Cycle Source Magazine and co-founder of the Limpnickie Lot, along with Sasha and Pops from Easyriders Events, and the builders from the Limpnickie Lot, have gone all out preparing the ultimate motorcycle “clubhouse” for all those in attendance to enjoy.  Inside the Limpnickie Lot Clubhouse you’ll find everything you’ll need to hang out with Chris and the Limpnickie Lot builders.  Everywhere you look, your eyes will be greeted by the beautiful, hand-built  customs the Limpnickie Lot builders are famous for.  As well, you’ll find pool tables and an arm wrestling stand so you can test your strength against the builders or other show attendees.  You’ll also find classic video game machines, like “Punch Out” and others to exhaust that supply of spare change building up in your pocket and, for those just wanting to chill out and get some building tips from the Limpnickie builders, there’ll be comfy sofas setup for shooting the breeze.  Basically, it’s exactly what you wanted your college dorm or frat to be like, but, this time only the cool cats are allowed to show up and there are no exams to worry about.

The Easyriders Bike Show, featuring the Limpnickie Lot Clubhouse, can be found at Galveston’s Lone Star Rally at the Pit Bar, located at 2413 The Strand, in Galveston, TX.  Builders from the Limpnickie Lot present for this event will include: Nash Motorcycles, Magoos Motorsikles, Vagabond Choppers, Courthouse Customs, Led Sled Customs, Lock Baker Fabrication, DeVille Cycles, Speed King, Black Sunshine Customs, and Garage Co. Customs.  Also on hand for this weekend’s event are some of the major players in the motorcycling aftermarket, such as: Baker Drivetrain, Metzeler Tires, and Rinehart Racing Exhausts.  While at the event they will be demonstrating their latest product offerings and helping make customers aware of the myriad new advancements in motorcycling technology.

So, with all that’s happening this weekend in Galveston, it’s clear that, while the months of winter are looming, all things motorcycling are alive and well if you know where to look.  Without question, the Easyriders Bike Show Tour 2010/2011 featuring the Limpnickie Lot Clubhouse is worth the trip.  Be sure to come out and meet Chris Callen, and all the Limpnickie Lot Builders.  While you’re there, definitely take full advantage of all the cool happenings at the Lone Star Rally.  And make sure you don’t miss the events being MC’d by the Broken Spoke Saloon’s very own Jay Allen.  Take it from me, he hosts one hell of a show, he’s one of the greatest and most genuine cats you’ll ever meet, and he’s a real friend to Chris and all of us here at Cycle Source!

Before closing, we at Cycle Source and the Limpnickie Lot would like to extend a special thanks to all of those who’ve helped to make our presence at the Lone Star Rally and the Easyriders Bike Show Tour 2010/2011 a reality.  In addition to those mentioned above we’d also like to recognize the efforts put forth by Melissa, Steve, and Greg from Easyriders Events.  Thanks to all of you for making us part of these spectacular events!

So there you have it folks.  All that’s left for you to do now is make your way to Galveston and become part of the extravaganza!  We all hope to see you there!!!
