News From The Hoka Hey Road

That’s right folks, the Challenge of the Hoka Hey has finally begun.  It took a tremendous team effort to get the cats at Cycle Source fully operational and on their way to that prize money in Homer, Alaska.  But, one way or another, these guys were not going to be denied their chance at the Challenge.

Currently, Chris Callen would like all to know that thanks to an early start time and his iron will, he and his new Electra Glide Ultra Classic dubbed, “Something Wicked This Way Comes,” are at least three hours ahead of Rob Keller, who had a later start time.

Along the way today, Chris has also called in with reports of at least one, “half-million-dollar speeding ticket;” the Challenge rider being immediately disqualified for breaking posted speed limit laws.  Chris has also witnessed at least three motorcycle accidents since starting the Challenge, the last of which occurred at the junction of routes 27 and 720.  Although unable to ascertain if the riders were injured, all of our thoughts and prayers are with those participating in this Challenge, particularly those who’ve had difficulties or been involved in accidents.
