crossroads

Athena “Chickie” Ransom of Vagabond Choppers, one of the top woman builders in the motorcycle industry, is heading to the Big Easy to showcase her Chicks Rule and Boys Drool tour during Bike Week New Orleans at the Broken Spoke Riverfront location, May 6th thru the 8th.

Friday, May 7th is International Female Ride Day and to celebrate this, the Broken Spoke Saloon has chosen Athena to lead the Plantation Poker Run at Bike Week New Orleans.  The Poker Run begins at the Bike Week Riverwalk Festival Venue at 8am, then heads out New Orleans Harley-Davidson. They riders will continue on to four beautiful plantation stops. Oak Alley Plantation is located on the Mississippi River between the two historic Louisiana cities of New Orleans and Baton Rouge, and has been called the "Grande Dame of the Great River Road". Afterwards, you will head to the San Francisco Plantation, the most Opulent Plantation on the Great River Road. From there you will experience the Laura Plantation, a Creole treasure in New Orleans Plantation Country. Your final card will be found at The Destrehan Plantation, the majestic antebellum home that watches over the banks of the great Mississippi River.

The ride will then return to the Bike Week New Orleans headquarters at the Riverwalk Festival venue, where riders will play their poker hand. Let’s hope Lady Luck is on your side, because the winner of the Poker Run will win a motorcycle! The Harley-Davidson Sportster is courtesy of New Orleans Harley-Davidson and Hurricane Harley-Davidson. The winner will be announced at the Broken Spoke Riverwalk Festival on Friday night.

Tickets for the Poker Run and for Saturday’s Wetlands Plantation Ride are available on site at the registration table at the Riverwalk Festival on Convention Center Boulevard. Come on out to Bike Week New Orleans to see Vagabond Choppers along with dozens of other fantastic vendors, authentic New Orleans cuisine and live music from former Bad Company lead singer Brian Howe, Sammy Kershaw, Kyle Turley and tons more.
