Indian Motorcycle The Official Motorcycle of the 2015 Hollister Freedom Rally

Hollister

Hollister Freedom Rally announces that Indian Motorcycle is the Official Motorcycle of the 2015 Hollister Freedom Rally.

Indian is an American brand of motorcycles originally produced from 1901 to 1953 in Springfield, Massachusetts.  Hendee Manufacturing Company initially produced the motorcycles but the name was changed to The Indian Motorcycle Manufacturing Company in 1928.

During the early 1900s Indian became the largest manufacturer of motorcycles in the world. Indian’s most popular models were the Scout, made from 1920 to 1946, and the Chief, made from 1922 to 1953.

The Indian Motorcycle Manufacturing Company went bankrupt in 1953. Various organizations tried to perpetuate the Indian Brand name in subsequent years, with limited success. In 2011 Polaris Industries purchased Indian Motorcycle and moved operations from North Carolina and merged them into their existing facilities in Minnesota and Iowa. Since August 2013, Polaris has marketed six modern Indian motorcycles that reflect Indian’s traditional styling.

Kevin Reilly, Director of Sales for Indian Motorcycle states, “Indian Motorcycle is very proud to be the official motorcycle of the Hollister Freedom Rally this July 4th.  As America’s first motorcycle company, we have a shared history with long-running events like the Hollister Freedom Rally in bringing people together from all over the world to share in the American V-Twin experience and culture.  This particular event and location have played an integral role in the development of the “American Biker” movement and we are beyond excited to be participating and partnering with the community and our dealers to bring an iconic brand like Indian Motorcycle to an iconic rally like Hollister.”

“The Hollister Freedom Rally is the definition of “iconic” motorcycle rally and Indian Motorcycle fits the mold perfectly of what this rally stands for.  We are very excited to have them as the official motorcycle for the 2015 rally”, says Chuck Schwartz, Chairman of the Hollister Freedom Rally.

Hollister Freedom Rally will be held July 3 – 5, 2015 in the heart of downtown Hollister, CA.  More information regarding the VIP Registration Package, events and vendor space can be found at www.HollisterFreedomRally.com.
