2015 Big Mountain Run- Hillbilly Invitational- Zack Conway, Diamonds-N-Rust Cycles

Hillbilly Profile Zach

For 2015 The Big Mountain Run will feature builders from all over the Eastern and Central parts of the United States in the Second Annual Hillbilly Invitational. Each of these builders is hand crafting an amazing build for the event and will all be pictured here and in Cycle Source Magazine. The winner also gets automatic entry into the prestigious “Artistry in Iron” invitational at Las Vegas BikeFest this year so the stakes are high. Leading up to the event we want to give you a little background on each builder and today we are very proud to introduce a returning builder from BMR 2014, Zack Conway from Diamonds -N- Rust Cycles.

“Hey, my names Zack Conway, Owner of a small back yard shop I like to call Diamonds-N-Rust Cycles. I’ve been around motorcycles all my life and its surely in my blood. My father has always had old Harleys and was always wrenching and I myself was watching and learning. I’m 24 years of age and built my first street bike when I was 16. Ive always been into the stripped down bare bones bikes like the ones that have been featured in the Cycle Source Magazine for many years. It’s truly an honor to be asked to be in this event considering I have always looked up to the guys before me who build absolutely amazing works of art. I may not have the greatest or the most tools to build with but I always try to do my best with what I have. I love to show people that you don’t need a high dollar shop to build yourself a nice scoot! just a vision in mind and a passion for what you love! and of course a trusty Lincoln flux core welder haha.  I’m slowly adding tools to the shop but for now I make do with the bare essentials and its all I really need. I’m constantly learning and would love to learn more about sheet metal working, tig welding, and machining. Luckily I have many good  friends in many different trades who help me out all the time! whether its a little advise or them just helping get stuff done around the shop and I honestly can’t thank them enough!!” Check out some of Zack’s work with Diamons-N-Rust on their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/DiamondsNRustCycles

Your participation will be required whether you are attending Big Mountain Run or not. The way the winner of the Hillbilly Invitational is decided is based on a three-way vote. First is a panel of judges at the event site, the second is decided by the builders themselves and the third is where you come in. When we get to the Big Mountain Run Event Site we will be posting their builds on Facebook and Instagram. 33% of the overall vote will be based on the number of likes each builder gets from social media so stay tuned. Keep watching for more info on Big Mountain Run as the event day gets closer. FYI, the link to our pre-registration is still open, so go sign up before it’s over!! head to www.bmrwv.com for more info!

We are also proud to announce that this year’s Hillbilly Invitational is sponsored by MC Creations!
