J&P Cycles Announces Concert Line Up For Open House Rally

GREAT WHITE ICON 2

J&P Cycles is going to take the Open House Rally to the next level on Saturday night, June 27, with a free concert at the Jones County Fairgrounds, in Monticello, Iowa, featuring Cinderella’s Tom Keifer, The Voice of Ratt Stephen Pearcy, and former Warrant guitarist Billy Morris playing tribute to Jani Lane. Don Jamieson, co-host of VH1’s Classic “That Metal Show,” will serve as emcee. The free Sunday afternoon concert, as previously announced, will feature Great White.

Cinderella frontman, Tom Keifer, released his debut solo album, “The Way Life Goes,” in 2013. Featuring 14 songs that are eclectic in nature and as a 2014 article in Rolling Stones Country suggests, “blues howlers, Stones-y rock, and big ballads, the album calls to mind Cinderella, but with an even more rootsy undercurrent.” Leading Cinderella, top songs include: “Nobody’s Fool,” “Don’t Know What You Got (Till It’s Gone)” and “Somebody Save Me.” Tom and his band will play 65 percent of Cinderella’s hits in addition to solo songs and a couple of covers.

Stephen Pearcy, the lead vocalist, founder and song writer of the rock band RATT, released his fourth solo album “SMASH” earlier this year. With RATT, over the course of 30 years, 10 albums were released with many top 10 singles including: “Round & Round,” “Back for More” and “Wanted Man.”

Former Warrant guitarist Billy Morris will play tribute to late Warrant lead singer Jani Lane. Morris was with Warrant from 2000 to 2004, playing on the album “Under the Influence.”

Emceeing the event is Don Jamieson, a stand-up comedian and co-host of “That Metal Show,” where legends of rock hang out to discuss their past and current projects in front of a live studio audience full of metal enthusiasts on VH1.

The location for the 36th annual J&P Cycles Open House Rally, scheduled for June 27-28, is moving to the Jones County Fairgrounds, located in Monticello, Iowa, just 10 miles north of the J&P Cycles headquarters outside Anamosa, Iowa. The size of the event is the main reason for the move as it has grown tremendously over the years.

In addition to concerts, visitors can see Cowboy Kenny’s Steel Rodeo, an action packed freestyle motorcycle exhibition that features high-in-the air acrobatic and daredevil style jumps as well as other stunt riding. Cowboy Kenny’s Steel Rodeo will perform at various times throughout both Saturday and Sunday. This family-friendly event will also feature special entertainment just for children. And, let’s not forget the motorcycle parts, gear and apparel! Those attending will get to see the latest motorcycle wares from some of the biggest names in the industry. More than 100 motorcycle manufacturers will be on site.

What started as a small Customer Appreciation Day held by co-founders John and Jill Parham to thank customers for their business throughout the year, has grown into one of the largest weekend events in the Midwest. More than 35,000 visitors attended the 35th annual event last year, including folks from Canada, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Florida and West Virginia, to name a few.

“This year’s J&P Cycles Open House Rally will be like no other Open House Rally,” says J&P Cycles Vice President/General Manager Zach Parham (and son of co-founders John and Jill Parham). “From the location to the vendors to the entertainment, this year will be one for the books!”
