BMR 5 – Hillbilly Invitational – Jason Grimes

Hillbilly Profiles

This year The Big Mountain Run will feature builders from all over the Eastern and Central parts of the United States in the first ever Hillbilly Invitational. Each of these builders is hand crafting an amazing build for the event and they will all be pictured here and in Cycle Source Magazine. Leading up to the event we want to give you a little background on each builder and this week we are proud to introduce Jason Grimes of North East Chop Shop.

Jason Grimes, the owner of Northeast Chop Shop, has always been a motorcycle enthusiast at heart.  In 1999 he decided to gain more knowledge by enrolling at the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI) in Florida where he received two years of professional training in Harley Davidson tech. Jason’s true passion was to customize motorcycles and hot rods from his perspective.  He also wanted to give the public a shop where they could go where they felt comfortable, welcoming low-pressure culture. Northeast Chop Shop’s mission is to create custom rides that every enthusiast can afford. Our goal is to manufacture affordable custom bikes.

Over the past ten years Northeast Chop Shop has grown significantly.  Jason Grimes’ drive and creativity has allowed his business and reputation to take off. In fact, he graced the cover of several magazines and his bikes have been photographed and displayed throughout the World. As the business grew and crew expanded, Jason has taken the opportunity to expand his blacksmithing skills. This quest for knowledge has taken his motorcycle and hotrod designs to an entirely new level, including some mind-blowing Damascus work.

Since day one at Northeast Chop Shop has had a passion for charities.  Every Spring Northeast Chop Shop throws an epic open house car and bike show to thank loyal customers and to raise money for a local children’s charity.
