Got a call from Led Sled this morning about their Sportster Kicker Kit for Evos. Apparently a company who is notorious for ripping shit off and having it outsourced has take their design and is now selling it at half the cost that Led Sled has been. Now everyone knows this kid, Pat Patterson, has invested a lifetime in the development and customization of sportsters, even when no one else gave them a second thought. Now that the industry is hungry someone takes his idea and runs. But that’s no surprise, it’s been happening for years the surprise is what we have been doing about it.
Now Let Me Tell You The Truth:
Instead of hiding the horrible truth of people who violate the code of conduct motorbike people have always followed and keeping our mouths shut to get a “Good Deal” they should be dealt with as traitors and snitches…. But the truth is, we don’t, wether they are the big company or the cool kids club we let the atrocities go on unchallenged and what do we gain, a weak moral code, another generation with a “Who cares” attitude? And who’s fault is it? Mine! Yours! All of us!!!!
Here you have a man who works his ass off, comes up with an idea that should be the proverbial “Better mousetrap” and instead of getting rewarded some sneaky bastard waits till he releases the product, does the R&D, makes upgrades and gets attention and then straight out steals it. Makes me sick to my stomach. What’s worse is there is no penalty for this. Now I don’t mean through the courts with patent law, the courts will actually protect this asshole from the kind of justice I grew up with in matters of sneak thievery…..
