Biltwell Bash 2009

bashcolor_lores

Biltwell is known for organizing some of the coolest rides like the first EDR, The Gypsy Run, Atomic Throwdown, Rogue Run and countless other events. Last year, they introduced the Chop Meet  to us and this year they are getting back to basics. Here’s why…
"The Biltwell Bash is a chance to get back to basics. No vendors, no anvil tosses, no wet t-shirt contests and no bullshit. Just a cool place off the beaten path to ride your bike, pitch a tent and drink some beer. What’s in it for us is the same thing that’s in it for you—good times on old motorcycles with great friends."
The Date:
April 17-19, 2009

The Place:
Lake Skinner Park of Riverside Country is ten miles east of Temecula, CA. This rustic venue has portable toilets, power and water, BBQ and bonfire circles and a shaded commons area with picnic tables. A convenience store (beer!) and café (breakfast!) are located within walking distance of our camping area. We’ll add some photos and maps of good riding over the next few weeks.

The Price:
Thanks to the support of some very generous sponsors, the Biltwell Bash is free. You do not need reservations.
There are about 70 actual sites in the cul-de-sac-shaped group campground. Spots are first-come, first serve. Motorcycles only in this area and you’ll have to share your space with others who arrive later. Cars can park in the overflow lot about 50′ north of the camping area.
Our advice: Pack light, ride fast and show up early on Friday, April 17.
If you don’t want to camp, Google Temecula hotels.

The Rules:
The Biltwell Bash is open to all kinds of people on all kinds of bikes, but it is intended for riders who build their own machines, especially old funky ones. There’s no swimming in the reservoir next to our camping area, and if you get caught they rangers may ask you to leave. No one is impressed with fireworks or late night burnouts, so don’t be a jackass.
The Bike Show:
Entry is free, and every bike that was ridden to the event will be eligible. Prizes will be awarded to the top three bikes on display, and trophies will be presented around the fire pit during the BBQ Saturday evening.
The Sponsors:
These people and companies love motorcycling, and they understand and embrace the spirit of this event:
47 Industries

If you’d like to sponsor the Biltwell Bash, we’re happy for the support. Please send us an e-mail and we’ll provide details. Sponsorship benefits for the Biltwell Bash are pretty thin, but include banner space at the campground, a generous donation to the beer fund, and linked logos on this website.
