Michigan Helmet law could be lifted……

IFWT_HelmetSoon bikers in the state of Michigan may get the choice whether or not they choose to wear a helmet.

Legislation passed the Michigan House 69-39 Wednesday afternoon.

The bill will now go to the Michigan Senate.

If it passes the Senate, it is unclear if Governor Rick Snyder would pass it.

Similar attempts were vetoed by former governor Jennifer Granholm.

If the legislation passes, it would allow riders 21 and older to go helmet-free if they meet required insurance and experience thresholds.

Many bikers think it should be up to the biker whether to wear a helmet
