A cross-section of the nation’s most notable motorcycle builders will be joining an array of distinguished riders and prominent celebrities to raise significant funds for a number of worthwhile South Dakota charities by assembling in Deadwood on Monday, August 8th to take part in the 4th annual Legends Ride®. Created by the Sturgis Buffalo Chip®, the Legends Ride® guides riders from Historic Deadwood to the Sturgis Buffalo Chip® in Sturgis on a remote road that carves through the scenic Black Hills of South Dakota.

Created to positively impact local youth as well as preserve the rich heritage and industry of motorcycling, the Legends Ride® unites the motorcycle, music and entertainment industries while welcoming riders from around the globe to enjoy a day of spectacular South Dakota motorcycling in addition to contributing to a number of meaningful local charities.

100% of riders’ contributions will benefit local charities, which will be announced soon. In the first three years, the Legends Ride® has raised over $150,000 for local charities and has become the premier charity ride in motorcycling. By galvanizing the generosity and dedication among Legends Ride® organizers, sponsors, dignitaries and media, the event continues to create awareness and build broad public support for this highly anticipated ride.

Special guests confirmed to ride in the 2011 Legends Ride® include actor Lorenzo Lamas, reality television star Rupert Boneham, and a healthy dose of the nation’s top motorcycle builders and industry dignitaries. You can also check out www.Legendsride.com for a continuously updated roster of celebrities joining this year’s ride. Past Legends Ride® celebrity riders have included Pee Wee Herman, Guns and Roses guitarist Gilby Clark, MTV’s Riki Rachman, and Aerosmith front man, Steven Tyler.

"In three years the Legends Ride® has proven itself as the premier charity and celebrity event in motorcycling. The City of Deadwood supports this ride because it is such a worthy cause. We always knew that bikers were generous but we are still amazed year after year at how many people give from their hearts,” said George Milos, Deadwood Chamber of Commerce director. "And now with the Legends Ride® celebrating its 4th year, we expect to see even more support."

The $150 rider registration is all inclusive and offers riders the opportunity to join celebrities, world-class bike builders, cigar aficionados and other special guests on a stunning 50-mile ride from historic Deadwood, S.D., to the Sturgis Buffalo Chip® for the Legends Ride® finale, capped by a concert headlined by 80’s rockers Def Leppard and Tesla. Perks include free parking in Deadwood and the Legendary Buffalo Chip®, food and drinks prior to the concert, meet-and-greet opportunities with master builders and celebrities and a special souvenir gift pack, riders can even camp at the Chip for the night! Registration for the 2011 ride is now open, but space is filling quickly as the Legends Ride® heads for its fourth consecutive sellout.
