Motorcycle safety education providers would no longer receive state reimbursement under a bill debated on general file Jan. 24. The Motorcycle Safety Education Fund currently receives $3 from the Highway Trust Fund for every motorcycle registered in the state and $3.50 from the Department of Motor Vehicles Cash Fund for each motorcycle operator’s license issued during the previous year. The fund is used to reimburse motorcycle safety course providers up to $75 for each student who successfully completes a course.

During the Easyriders show at the Los Angeles Convention Center yesterday spectators got to witness history in the making. The well known Mongols and Hell Angels met and broke bread during the event. Everyone couldn’t believe their eyes and were glad to see both groups heading to the right direction. Operation Gratitude today revealed that the organization’s 600,000th Care Package, containing the keys to a Victory Vegas 8-Ball Motorcycle, was personally delivered on Christmas Day by Marine Corps Commandant, General James Amos, to a Lance Corporal deployed in the Sangin District of Helmand Province, Afghanistan. The Lance Corporal, whose name will be revealed upon his return to the United States, is an infantryman with the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines (3/5), also known as the "Dark Horse Battalion."
