This ride got a great response in Europe is coming home to us. Harley-Davidson has undertaken a super-soft launch of the much ballyhooed XR1200 for the U.S. market. The initial launch will be kept to a limited run of 750 bikes. Up until now, the dirt-track inspired bike has only been available in Europe, the Middle East and some African regions.
In finally offering the inspired Sportster to American customers, it appears as if Harley-Davidson is going to right what many view as one of the most egregious wrongs ever inflicted on the American motorcycling community. News of the Euro-only model was met by the U.S. Riding public with loud dissention and a few boos and hisses.
Here they go again, folks. Sucker Punch Sally’s announced the launch of the limited edition "Destination Duo" motorcycle, built exclusively for Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona. Equal parts old-school and modern, the Destination Duo bike celebrates the 50th anniversary of the first fully suspended American motorcycle, while capturing the bold, no nonsense style of a true Sucker Punch Sally’s one-off. In partnership with motorcycle entrepreneur Bruce Rossmeyer, Sucker Punch Sally’s created 50 limited edition Destination Duo motorcycles. The motorcycle is nostalgically styled after the Duo glide while featuring the modern components standard on all Sucker Punch Sally’s models. Each "Destination Duo" includes a powerful reproduction Panheadtm power plant, 5 speed kick start transmission as well as an electric starter, original style 2 into 2 exhaust combination with rear suspension, optional buddy seat, and choice of a springer or hydraulic front-end.
Brass Balls Bobbers won the 2008 Military Bike Build-Off. The created a custom Digger that represents the arm services of America. It’s painted army green with splashes of vivid colors. It embodies an old skool look with state-of-the-art features.
See a little of the event & all of the contestants. Check it out… Great stuff.
The motorbike is built with some cutting edge components from Metzeler tires to Crime Scene lights and air cleaner. A unique piece of the build is an engine from Crazy Horse, which is called a V-Plus engine. The bike not only looks good, but with the V-Plus it runs like a scalded cat.

Anyone who has ridden dirt bikes or BMX will appreciate Moto Gloves from Biltwell. Like so many other garage builders, we love the thin palms and snug fit of those modern mechanic’s gloves, but prefer more subdued colorways and styling. For pure understatement, Biltwell Moto Gloves certainly deliver. Wear a pair on your next ride and we think you’ll be equally impressed with the durability and comfort of this functional Biltwell product.
Well folks, we woke up before sunrise this morning to be one of many standing in line waiting for the event to open. It seemed a little chilly this morning , the marine layer was low but sprits were high. This is a monthly tradition for many to find that right part needed to complete their build.Truly amazing, you can go to a show and pay thirty bucks or more to see the "famous people" but here they are just ordinary guys selling their wares for a reasonable price.
Chica , the guys from Moon Eyes, Duane Mayer and Bernt Karlsson from Boyd Coddington Customs, Primos Helmet Designs, Dice Magazine and Avenger Helmets are just a few of the vendors that stretched the massive lot.
I am proud to say that Cycle Source will be there, spreading the word, by January!!!!!!!!!
George Emmons Najar, Media Engineer for Biker Pros, designed and manufactured a video shooting chair for high-speed motorcycle passes on video shoots.
The Flying Chair is used in videos for Biker Pros’ clients and assists in telling a compelling story. The first video using the chair is a vidcast about a new set of Fat Cat exhaust pipes from D&D Performance Enterprises.
The chair connects to a tow hitch and allows the videographer to shoot motorcycles at a road-level vantage point at 180 degrees. It improves the quality and excitement of the video by allowing the shooter to get closer to the action.
At the 2008 BUB Speed Trials in Bonneville the flying chair successfully recorded racers at 100 mph and took corners of 50 mph. Videos of Bonneville will be available in Bikernet Studio at www.bikernet.com.
