From The Editor – Back From Daytona

_DSC0485 So another Bike Week is in the books and the reports are pouring in as to what the vibe was. As for me and the Hoodlums that run the Limpnickie Lot I can honestly say that this may have been the best Bike Week Ever. We had everything that we hoped for, except heat, and that didn’t stop us from riding and hell raising all over the streets of Daytona. But there were grumblings about the numbers being down overall, some complained a little louder than others and it makes me wonder, have we let the business of what we do get in the way of what we do?

The Limpnickie Lot Gives Back Program

image

The Limpnickie Lot has joined forces with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida who is helping raise awareness for childhood hunger in Central Florida.

During Daytona Bike Week, there will be drop off boxes set up at The Stone Edge Skatepark located at 1848 South Ridgewood Ave in South Daytona Beach. We are asking you to join us, be a part of a special cause and bring a few can goods when you head over to the Lot. A small grocery bag hanging off your handlebars could help us greatly.

We help the economy during Daytona Bike Week; now let’s help the community that serves us thru out Daytona Bike Week.

To find out more about the Second Harvest Food Bank, please go to http://www.foodbankcentralflorida.org. You can also make a small donation on there site.

Let The Music Play!

A Letter from The Editor…..

Ok, so more than a letter this is an apology. Anyone that has had to work with me, around me or has simply been trying to get in sps-stouch with me for the past two months might deserve a serious apology from me. Things got entirely too heavy these past ten weeks or so and I have to admit, I found my limit, I think. With two regular issues, the Indian Larry Special and the Limpnickie Lot Builder Manual we had a deadline every fifteen days PLUS we had to get the whole booth ready for Cincy and I came home to a house full of sick women, who immediately passed the virus on to me. So with 36 inches of snow, sick as hell and beat up from the most serious work I have ever taken on, I am now going through some 1,000 emails and realized I may have pissed some people off. For that I am terribly sorry and will do my best to get back on track asap.

Admitting that things got out of hand for a minute is no easy feet, especially for someone with a personality like mine but a conversation with a friend the other night reminded me that it’s all good. Life is not a beginning and an ending but rather a series of moments. Some heavy, some light but in the end, the song rolls on. So as for me and the rat pack at Cycle Source, we are now working on our 13th anniversary issue, then off to Daytona where I hope to see some of the friends that I may have been rough on through this tuff time. Until then….. Rock on…..

Rock Legend Doobie Brothers are heading to Sturgis

DoobieBrothers2

The Legendary Buffalo Chip has just announced that closing out this year’s Sturgis Rally Week festivities will be American rock band legend, The Doobie Brothers. Scheduled for Saturday, August 14, the rock and roll superstars will be topping off nine days of raucous musical performances and is expected to bring in the biggest closing Saturday night in Buffalo Chip history.
One of the most popular California pop/rock bands of the ’70’s, the Doobie Brothers successfully evolved from a mellow boogie band to a polished and genuine soul-inflected pop band that has successfully weathered four decades of the American music scene.
